About FamBam

FamBam is a family and household organization platform built by FamBam Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company based in Austin, TX. We help modern families — co-parents, blended households, multi-generational homes, and caregiver arrangements — stay on the same page with shared calendars, task and chore tracking, smart lists, meal planning, family chat, and an AI assistant named Bam.

What messages we send

FamBam sends automated text messages (SMS) to keep household members informed. Message types include:

  • Event reminders — upcoming calendar events for you or your household
  • Task and chore notifications — when tasks are assigned, completed, or overdue
  • Daily briefings — a summary of your household's day
  • Household alerts — important updates from your household or from Bam, the AI assistant
  • Chat notifications — when a household member sends a message

Messages are sent from a FamBam phone number. They are informational and transactional — we do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How you opt in

SMS notifications are entirely opt-in. You will never receive a text message from FamBam unless you have explicitly consented. Here is how the opt-in process works:

  1. Create a FamBam account and join or create a household within the FamBam mobile app.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Notifications in the app and enter your phone number.
  3. Toggle "Enable SMS notifications" on. Before enabling, you are shown a consent disclosure that includes message frequency, message and data rates, and opt-out instructions.
  4. Choose your categories. You can select which types of notifications you'd like to receive via SMS (event reminders, task alerts, daily briefings, household alerts). You can change these at any time.

Consent is recorded with a timestamp and version number. You can revoke consent at any time by toggling SMS off in Settings or by texting STOP.

Send SMS for:
☑ Event reminders
☑ Task assignments
☑ Daily briefings
☑ Household alerts
Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your notification settings and your household's activity. You control which categories of SMS you receive. There is no fixed number of messages per day or month — a quiet household may receive very few, while an active household with many events and tasks may receive more.

How to opt out

You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to the number from which you received the message. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, you can re-enable SMS notifications in the FamBam app.

You can also opt out by going to Settings → Notifications in the FamBam app and toggling SMS off, or by removing your phone number.
